@0:00 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Um, I didn't get a lot. had a procedure done Friday, so I wasn't feeling that Saturday.
@0:05 - CoachTobeyRenee
Oh, are you okay?
@0:07 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Yeah, I am.
@0:08 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay. You're recovering?
@0:10 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Yeah, I'm good. right.
@0:12 - CoachTobeyRenee
Well, I know that I want a procedure.
@0:15 - Ms. Wylene Turner
I think about 10 procedures I want to do. Oh, this one, this one's a healthy.
@0:21 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay. Okay, I you're here. Okay, Um, so we'll go ahead and get started. So last week, oh, you know what?
Let me record this. Oh, is this recording? April, I need you to help me with the logistics here sometimes.
So is it recording? I guess it's recording. Now, let me double check so I can put this in the recording.
All right.
@0:48 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay. Where do we find the recordings?
@0:51 - CoachTobeyRenee
So I drop them in your portal. So if you go to report your online coaching, your portal, where your classes are.
If you scroll down, the last course will say coaching calls, every week I'll load up, you know, the coaching calls.
And then sometimes I might put a coaching call in there from my other group, because I have probably about two years worth of coaching calls with that group.
So if I think it's relative to what you guys need to know without overwhelming you, I might put stuff over, you know, in your portal as well.
But like I said, the other group, they've been with me about three, four years, some people little longer. So they're really into their businesses, and so I didn't want to mix the two groups.
You know what I'm saying? I wanted to be fair to you guys and make sure that you get the attention you need separate from what, you know, they're doing.
@1:47 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Thank you.
@1:49 - CoachTobeyRenee
So that's what we have going on. Okay. So last week, we talked about branding. outside of the online portal, we get to these calls.
You don't want to answer any questions you guys have about the courses, but on top of that, I also want to make sure that we start building our businesses and looking professional online.
Everything's set up. And so last week, we said, okay, let's start with our branding. So that means your name.
What's your business name? We also need to figure out what are your brand colors. It can be more than one.
It could be two. It could be whatever you need. So my brand colors are black, white, turquoise, any shade of teal, blue, and a little bit of gray.
So I kind of float in between all those colors. Sometimes all together, it just depends on, you know, if I'm feeling little saucy.
But you guys need to figure out a name, your business, figure out your brand colors. And we did discuss last week how the brand colors, the luxury tones, are not really your primary colors.
They're more so like your. secondary colors so I wouldn't do like maybe well not maybe blue but I wouldn't do like a um maybe like a Christmas tree green or is it Oscar green I wouldn't do like a primary color but I would do like a like for me my business I don't use blue I use teal so you can always look up your primary colors and stay away from them so people who use primary color is like McDonald's that is not a luxury brand McDonald's Wendy's Target that's not really considered a luxury brand so just remember when you're picking out your brand colors try to steer away from your primary okay name and business brand colors I'm we want to start setting up our socials as well all this is free all this is easy all you but you do have to put in the work okay it's not gonna get done you know by it's on its own
So, every day, if you can manage, work on your business at least one to two hours. It may just be something as simple as, okay, know, let me set up my TikTok account.
Let me reserve my name, set it up, get everything going. So once you get your brand name, I mean, your business name figured out, then you can go and set up the Instagram, don't worry about posting anything yet.
Now, you're, get your Instagram, get your TikTok, get your Pinterest, get your Facebook, make sure all of this is set up.
So when people go to look for you, they can find you, and then what else did we say? said set up the socials, and I think that I felt like that was more than enough to do in a week.
So I did want to check in with you guys first to see whether any questions on the online courses, any specific questions I can go over, if not, then I want to get into how your branding is going.
Um, so right now the group is small, which I like because we can actually, um, I can actually like talk to each person one on one.
So let's start with that. Let's start with, um, questions on the online stuff. Any questions? And I'm going to share my screen.
SCREEN SHARING: Coachtobeyrenee started screen sharing - WATCH
@5:20 - Travonda Simpson
Really?
@5:22 - CoachTobeyRenee
Oh, wait, who was that talking? I find it. Oh, okay.
@5:26 - Travonda Simpson
So everything's going to. But that part.
@5:30 - CoachTobeyRenee
I have some questions. Yes, please.
@5:34 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay. So on their wall prep, um, one of my questions was, do we clean? Do we always clean the wall before we start?
@5:45 - CoachTobeyRenee
Um, well, no, you don't do that. You don't have to really necessarily do that each time unless it's just, I don't even know that I've done that.
Never cleaned the wall. Usually when I clean, when I'm. thinking of cleaning the wall. I'm never anywhere where it's that bad.
Do you know what I'm saying?
@6:05 - Ms. Wylene Turner
I'm never going to do it.
@6:06 - CoachTobeyRenee
that nasty. Now, before I base coat, if I'm coming into somebody's home and they haven't painted the walls in 10 years, then you know how your base coat painters will stand lightly?
@6:19 - Ms. Wylene Turner
I will do that. Okay.
@6:22 - CoachTobeyRenee
But for the most part, you don't really need to do like any kind of deep cleaning. And it doesn't hurt, but I feel like if you're somewhere and the wall is looking fairly fresh, but let's say you get somewhere in it's like a kitchen and it's grease splattered everywhere.
Yeah, you probably need to clean that up a little bit. I probably would sand it and then I'll probably with primate before I paint it, because oil stains, that's the whole different thing.
@6:51 - Ms. Wylene Turner
So, so it's primate with primate paint, is that what you mean?
@6:55 - CoachTobeyRenee
Primate? No, with paint primer. So, when you go to Here, let me stop, Shannon. When you go to either Home Depot or, oh, I never did share.
Okay, when you go to Home Depot or Lowe's or something like that, they have Bull's Eye primer. You can get primer anywhere.
Sharon Williams been more anywhere. But the primer is gonna coat the wall and kind of seal what's under it.
So if I'm going in somewhere and the walls look really suspect, and I'm like, this is nasty. I will prime first.
@7:33 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay.
@7:34 - CoachTobeyRenee
Because if you don't prime, and let's say it's somewhere they splattered fried chicken grease or something, that grease will seep through.
We'll always see through your paint.
@7:43 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Yeah, so just remember to prime first if the walls are not in great condition. Okay, my next question, you were saying sometimes you can, if you don't want a base coat, a wall can get a base coat painter.
What's the typical cost of a base coat?
@8:00 - CoachTobeyRenee
So, you know how I taught you how to do, get your square footage, take the square footage of your room.
So, let's say one wall is 100 square feet, typically I start my base codes at 0.75, so 75 cents.
@8:19 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay. That's what I'm going take here.
@8:22 - CoachTobeyRenee
So, if the room is 100, the wall is 100 square feet, you multiply 100 times 75 cents. You see what I'm saying?
@8:35 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Uh-huh. But this is what I'm going pay the base code, painter.
@8:38 - CoachTobeyRenee
Correct.
@8:39 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay, gotcha.
@8:41 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay. now depending on how much volume you have, you may want to throw in the paint. I don't know your relationship, you know, with your customer or whatever.
But typically, I don't add the cost of paint into his number or their number.
@8:56 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay.
@8:58 - CoachTobeyRenee
So, that's his labor number. That's the cost of, so are you buying the pain or is he buying the pain?
@9:03 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay.
@9:04 - CoachTobeyRenee
No, I'm asking.
@9:06 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Oh, I, I'm just, I just went through the lesson and that was the question I had.
@9:10 - CoachTobeyRenee
I don't know. Okay. All right. So when you get to that though, some painters be like, no, I'll buy pain.
You may have to give them the money for the pain.
@9:20 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay.
@9:21 - CoachTobeyRenee
Some of them be like, can you just purchase all the pain? I don't want to be bothered. You know, so just remember, their labor is not included.
The pain is not included in their labor price.
ACTION ITEM: Add Amazon link to Telegram group - WATCH
@9:33 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay. I had several questions.
@9:35 - CoachTobeyRenee
Oh, you're fine.
@9:37 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Go ahead. Okay. So you mentioned that we can get lighting from your Amazon store.
@9:42 - CoachTobeyRenee
What's your Amazon store? Oh, let me put that right in the chat. me see how I do that. You know what?
@9:51 - Ms. Wylene Turner
I'll drop it in Telegram. Okay.
@9:53 - CoachTobeyRenee
I'll do that right now. So yeah, on my Amazon store, I always tag. the things that I use and I like to use and obviously if you can get it locally you know just go get it locally but at least the Amazon store is so it's that somewhere where you can order from and you know it's legitimate if it's messed up you can return it so I always like to put all my stuff on Amazon so you guys can actually see the product the real products that I'm buying and I use in my studio and let me do that and then I'll see if I can remember to go back and add it to the online course okay um I'll make a note I'll drop it in the telegram okay my next question is so good you trust but it's important higher do you recommend that for a beginner when you say hi wait
@11:00 - Ms. Wylene Turner
your cause for charges.
@11:02 - CoachTobeyRenee
Did you say why I was doing that?
@11:05 - Ms. Wylene Turner
No, I know. I don't think it said why. You say you typically charge five to two percent higher.
@11:13 - CoachTobeyRenee
Right, but am I, were you trying to do give a discount?
@11:16 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Was it, what was I talking about? this is under pricing. This is about the underpatient services.
@11:28 - CoachTobeyRenee
So it might have been, so sometimes I'll add that extra percentage on. If I know I'm going to have to give a discount, right?
So, you know, you guys have to learn how to work your business. You're going to have to learn your customer too.
So I have some clients, all they do is finagle. I'm like, Lord, they got all the money in the world, all they do is finagle, finagle, finagle.
So, when I, before I turn over their invoice, I already know they don't try to do me down. Okay.
I hope I know Jewish people on this call.
@12:00 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay.
@12:00 - CoachTobeyRenee
So anyway, I already know they're going to try to june me down. So I might raise the percentage 10, 15%.
So that way, I can get what I'm worth. I can pay my people and have enough money to buy materials supplies, and then I don't run out and I still got to go back and ask them for money.
@12:18 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Yeah, okay.
@12:19 - CoachTobeyRenee
So that is only between you and God. So I'm not saying to be, you know, don't hustle them out of whatever, you know, I think it's fine to price accordingly, where like if I'm in New York or California, I can raise my prices 15, 20% in those markets, because that's what the market calls for.
So you just have to know your market, you have to know your customer as well.
@12:58 - Ms. Wylene Turner
So my next question was. up the assistant. So at what stage of a business did you get an assistant like?
@13:05 - CoachTobeyRenee
It happened real quick because when I first started, I was doing all my base codes. Let me start, start over.
I was working by myself and I was doing all my base codes and I didn't like that. I don't like doing base codes.
so then by the time you got time for me to do the creativeness and the decorative painting art, I was exhausted.
I was tired. So in my mind, I'm always trying to scale and grow my business. I'm the person that's gonna pog all the money and don't hire anybody and contract anything out like, I work efficient, right?
So when I think of it's not me painting base codes. And I figured that out for myself. people like it.
Some people, oh, I'm gonna do the base codes this week. next week, I'll start. You have to figure that out for yourself.
for me, I didn't expect We were doing that. So it literally took me maybe five projects to realize that it didn't even take a year.
And I was like, yeah, I'm not going to be able to keep doing all of my base coats and then I have to come in and do my decorative painting and then turn around and maybe do some design work.
I just didn't enjoy the base coat. So that's my honest experience with that. However, if you're just starting off and it's just one or two walls, do your base coat.
That's not going to, you know, a couple hundred dollars you can keep in your pocket. Now, if you get big jobs and you got to paint a whole house, please don't try to paint a whole house by yourself with base coat.
That's when you know it's time to scale. So your body will also tell you to. Like my body was like, what?
What are you doing? No,'am. So listen to your body as well. And listen to how you feel. And that's going to like really tell you like where you need to go.
So if you finish the job and you're exhausted. said, you may, you know, extra seven grand this month, but you were exhausted doing it.
@15:03 - Ms. Wylene Turner
That's telling you, okay, it's time for me to get some help. And then you, Kobe, you mentioned about having a system like for your client to call.
@15:17 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yes, so you may not have that right now and that's fine. But when you get to a point where you don't want to take the calls from each and every customer or client, you can have somebody return those calls.
So the way I started out was I didn't have an assistant necessarily returning calls, but I set up a I set up a separate email that just said info at whatever the name of your company is right.
And in that info email, I was able to let somebody else answer the email. If people were calling a lot trying to book me and I wasn't sure, you know, if they were going to pay.
out or anything like that, then I would have an assistant call. So, now, people can't call me directly, right?
You can't just pick up the phone and call me because I'm at a face in my business. I don't like that.
I like to send me an email and I'm going to read your email determined if you're serious or not.
So, we're going to go back and forth over emails for at least two or three times because what I'm doing is I'm betting you, right?
I'm betting you to make sure you're not going to waste my time because I'm out here selling lip gloss.
@16:32 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Like I sell, I provide a high-end luxury service, whether it's the decorative painting, art, or design.
@16:39 - CoachTobeyRenee
So, we're going to go back and forth. I'm going to say thank you for reaching out, me what you got going on, and they're going to tell me that I'm going to say, oh, what part of town are you in?
you ready to start? And then I may dependent on, you know, what's going back and forth? I may say, well, my minimum is 5,000 in town.
It's 10,000 out of town. You know, their answers will trigger your next response, and after that, if I feel like it's legitimately, I'll pick up the following column myself, but when it's like, so now like when I'm dealing with people off of like Instagram, no, I don't want to talk to those people.
So I will have my assistant because you have to think Instagram is cool, but that's not really our customer.
Our customers more so like Facebook, LinkedIn, the people on Instagram, they're just there, you know, because it's pretty, you know what I'm saying, like out of all my followers, maybe a thousand of them are really true artists, decorators, you know, somebody who would want to invest in this type of business.
Everybody else is just there along for the ride, like, oh, it's so pretty. So when people take me and DM me in Instagram, no, I don't talk to them.
I let them talk to my assistant. And now, so. It's your business elevates you, you will grow to do different things.
So now the way my business is set up is automated. So I don't even have an assistant that calls them back.
I have everything automated. So they reach out. My automation says, hey, how you doing? What do you mean? Well, I did this, this and that then my automation response.
my automation response. So I feel like, okay, this person is serious and then I can pick up the phone.
So I've kind of cut out my assistant person at this stage in my career, but you have to think I've been in business almost 25 years.
But you know, for you guys, and I hate to give you mixed messages. But while you're starting out, take the call because you're just getting started.
So take the call and you can go back and forth on email to see if they're legitimate. You can do that first.
You don't have to call everybody like right away. You can send emails back and forth if they're okay with scheduling a consultation and calling.
You know my consultations calls out if I if I were you guys I'd probably charge about ninety five dollars No more than a hundred and fifty So if you're going back and forth on email and you say well, hey, I'd love to stop by my consultation fee is hundred and fifty dollars And they're like, pick up the phone and call like, okay.
Look. I schedule a call? Let's talk it out. You know, I'd like to you know schedule some time for me to stop by Take measurement show you my portfolio So hope I did was that too confusing.
@19:31 - Ms. Wylene Turner
No, no Yes, so sometimes I talk from experience where I am in my career now Yeah, and I have to back it up and break it down for where you guys are starting.
@19:43 - CoachTobeyRenee
No, I appreciate that Yeah, as you as you grow you might want to automate some of these systems, you know Like I said, I don't even have an assistant really calling people anymore because everything is automated down to
the question, do you want to schedule a consultation? And if the automation picks up, no, then I never even had to talk to them.
And I think I picked, so the automation I'm using in my particular business is called mini chat. And you guys can kind of research it, but I use mini chat and Instagram and Facebook.
And basically, it has a conversation for me. It's kind of, it's like AI, it is AI. It has the conversation for me.
if they say, no, I don't want to schedule an appointment that I never even have to talk to those people.
So, you know, I wouldn't worry about that right now. Build your fan base, you know what I'm saying? Build your customer base right now.
Get people body in, get them, you know, interested in what you're doing. And then once you start to get overwhelmed with phone calls and texts, then you'll, like your body will be like, okay, I got to figure this out.
It'll always do that.
@21:00 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay.
@21:00 - CoachTobeyRenee
Two more questions.
@21:02 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay. the sample wall. When you go to a showroom, a high-end store, how you negotiate during a sample wall, and do you do it for free, or you do it for discount?
@21:16 - CoachTobeyRenee
So, like if you're in a furniture store?
@21:19 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Like a furniture store.
@21:20 - CoachTobeyRenee
what I would do is I would know, I'm a full-finisher here in the area, and I was wondering, would you guys be interested in doing any accent walls?
So, what do you call the sections where the furniture is? Well, I can't think of the name of it right now.
But you know how they have furniture in front of each wall?
@21:47 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Yeah.
@21:48 - CoachTobeyRenee
So, yeah, I would ask them, you know, would it be, would you guys be interested in doing accent walls to help steal the furniture?
Now, most of the time, they're going to Hey, hey, you came in here. This was your idea. You know, you can set it up.
We don't pay for it.
@22:06 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay, right?
@22:08 - CoachTobeyRenee
They're gonna say we don't want to pay for it. However, you leave your name and your contact number on the wall All day.
So when I first started I did that for One or two furniture stores where I came in and painted a few of their accent walls I never forget it actually It's a funny story.
So I mayor in Atlanta now Andre Dickon He actually used to own the furniture store where I got my start So he was literally the first part one of the first people that put me on so this had to be 15 16 years ago He owned a furniture store in Atlanta And I came in and I introduced myself and I was like I'd love to be able to do some of you guys as well I think it was like the only black owned store in the city of Atlanta
and they were like oh my god we love your work but they didn't pay for anything but when I tell you those three walls got me so much work and the walls were only like four feet by five feet they're not big wall they're just like the length of a sofa right and when I tell you guys that was a turning point in my career like once that work goes up and those customers come in there and they're seeing the full vision they went oh and then it was cool because even though they didn't pay for anything they sent all the work to me for free so I don't have to pay them the percentage so it was a very good working relationship I say if you're going to do anything for free do it somewhere like that yeah where the wall is small you don't have to spend a lot on material and then get it on paper make sure you have a contract that says hey you know I'm doing these walls
is called pro bono. So, you know, when doing these pro bono walls, in turn, I would like all referrals to come directly to me, that type of thing.
And then you just leave your name and number on a business card on the wall or maybe on a plaque or something like that.
And then they can call you directly. They don't even have to, no worry about the furniture store. Now, I will say after about two years of doing that, the interior designer made me come up under her.
And so then they did start taking a piece of it of my money. But I didn't mind because at that point, I was getting jobs that were five 10,000.
You see what I'm saying? So, when she made me come on up under her as a contractor, I still didn't mind that because I know I'm getting all the work through that furniture store.
so every time I write a contract, I would just cut her a check for 10%.
@24:54 - Ms. Wylene Turner
I wouldn't mad at it. You know what I'm saying?
@24:57 - CoachTobeyRenee
So, a lot of the time, if a furniture or has an interior designer contact them too, know, as to you guys as a designer, you know, whatever, because you can build that relationship.
And that's what we're going to be learning over the next three months, build the relationships with your industry, what I like to call industry partners, or industry professionals.
So I've built my relationships with interior designers over the years, because my interior designers are always going to bring in work.
And, you know, I don't steer away from the one-off home owner, obviously, but I really try to market to designers, contractors, anybody who can send me multiple customers, clients, multiple jobs.
@25:48 - Ms. Wylene Turner
I think you may have done my old neighbors.
@25:50 - CoachTobeyRenee
Vice at Anthony, you know, vice at. That does sound. Oh, because then, yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes. This is in her house.
still the same?
@26:01 - Ms. Wylene Turner
It is. I moved from there about five years ago, but yes, she's still there.
@26:06 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay. She posed her dining room from time to time.
@26:09 - Ms. Wylene Turner
I'm like, God, that still looks good.
@26:12 - CoachTobeyRenee
What she did, she did one of them a talent. And yeah, that stuff is good. It lasts a while.
doesn't fade. It's very upskill classy, charging good price for it.
@26:26 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Yeah, because I live next door to her in 2012 through 2018.
@26:32 - CoachTobeyRenee
So she's had it a while. Okay.
@26:34 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Yeah, it's still a good. Yes, it's good. Okay. last question was the mini sample portfolio. Is that you give it to the interior designers?
Is this pictures or is there real samples that you put? No, they're real samples in those samples.
@26:49 - CoachTobeyRenee
So what I will do is you have a couple of different ways of doing it. I can't remember what's in the class, but you can go to Home Depot and have
then cut up the particle board. I feel like we've talked about this too. But particle board, Home Depot, it's like 30 bucks.
The sheet is like eight feet by four feet. And you can get it cut into smaller squares. And what you do is you paint the squares and then you make us, you know, you make like a fan deck.
Excuse me, of your techniques. So like, you know how So you can make the samples on that, or you can use polystyrene, but depending on where you guys live, I don't know if you can get polystyrene.
ACTION ITEM: Add polystyrene link to Telegram group - WATCH
So you can actually Google polystyrene, maybe sheet the polystyrene in your area. And I'll also, let me add, I'll add that to telegram too.
I'll add my polystyrene fender to tell the program. But yes, so So maybe you want to do maybe five, 10 different finishes, just put them in a stack.
We don't have to connect them or do anything like that, but I used to just make a stack of them and put it in a nice envelope or something like that.
Okay. Now, again, maybe you send over a written up contract, you know, maybe they don't have the sign and maybe they can, but just let them know this is for my property.
You are not allowed to show these techniques and finishes to other finishers to try to duplicate my work, but you have to put all this in writing.
Don't be relaxed with people because at the end of the day, you got to take care of yourself. If something comes up trust me, they're going to throw you under the bus or do whatever.
So, you know, give them the portfolio. This is on loaner as long as we work together. This is my property.
I'm going to loan this out to you, but it does come with conditions. Like I said, number one, you can't show it to anybody to shop or
on my technique, you won't be able to like keep these forever, right? let's say if they were like, oh, well, can I just buy it?
@29:09 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Sure. They want to buy the portfolio.
@29:13 - CoachTobeyRenee
I don't know, maybe put 300 bucks on it. You know what I'm saying? What do you care after that?
But yeah, if they want to buy it, that's fine. But if you're just loaning it out and you need to make sure they understand like, hey, this is not your property.
This is still my property. As long as we have a working relationship, you're more than welcome to use this deck to sell my work.
That's how that goes.
@29:39 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Okay. That was it for my question.
@29:41 - CoachTobeyRenee
Thank you. You're very welcome. And did you, so you got your business name, right?
@29:47 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Do you it? Did we get colors? can't remember. We didn't last week, and I played around with something yesterday.
@29:57 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay. What did you pick?
@30:00 - Ms. Wylene Turner
I don't even know how to describe it. I can't let me see not put the picture in here. It's kind of like a eggplant Okay, I'm a pinky, but not really pink.
@30:11 - CoachTobeyRenee
I would have I like that kind of like a eggplant pink situation Okay, I do like I like that a lot Um, were you able to set up any air social?
@30:24 - Ms. Wylene Turner
I didn't because yesterday was I was just doing my classes and then I Okay, all Yeah, yeah, no stress like now if we get the month through three and y'all ain't got your social set up.
@30:37 - CoachTobeyRenee
I'm gonna be mad Man, I'm gonna do it this week. I'm gonna finish this week.
@30:42 - Ms. Wylene Turner
So I Need the push.
@30:44 - CoachTobeyRenee
I want to push. Yeah, I understand everybody work. I'm not telling you quit your job and I work Please keep your employment.
Please keep your checks coming in However, you need to start taking it more serious if you really want to do this as a business So carve out time on the weekend baby
hour two in the evening when you can because I'm going to give you everything you need to know and after really month two you guys should be getting ready to like practice your samples practice your technique you should be pulling your boards together so we'll start having show and tell like month two and the month one is just let's get around let's get through the curriculum you might need to watch the videos one or two times you have questions like i'm always getting telegram too okay i have a question a whole other question how are you doing good okay so i said i'm not a little but i have two one of the logos i have i already my cousin has what i've registered oh one of them is registered right so i have to be careful my cousin said because she
@32:00 - Travonda Simpson
for LLC and she said you just don't want to get caught up with that aura in it that's not registering so I have another logo that have it that have a different one you know it don't have the aura in it so I'm just confused I don't know I don't want to get in trouble doesn't have tell when you say art what do you mean I don't understand what like like the registered trade share yes I can't share it on here I don't know can I share my screen real quick yes hold on let me make sure I have it um how do I sorry so I'm trying to figure out how to get back to my full screen now trying to set up my Facebook and Instagram okay first let me tell you that I also set up my email okay I set up my email you know when you have to set up
Facebook or Instagram is sitting a cold to your email. I can't get it. And when I go through it, I'm like, if we know we played around with this all week and it's just trying to be out.
@33:11 - CoachTobeyRenee
So you could access the email?
@33:13 - Travonda Simpson
No, I can access the email. But Facebook and Instagram supposed to send me a cold to my email to my business email.
But I'm not receiving it. And it's filled correctly and everything. So I don't know.
@33:30 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yeah, that code is going somewhere.
@33:32 - Ms. Wylene Turner
It is definitely going somewhere.
@33:36 - April Henry-Wood
Did you check your spam?
@33:37 - Travonda Simpson
I did. Okay, it's clear because it's a new email.
@33:41 - April Henry-Wood
Okay, if it's a new email and you've checked your spam and it's from Facebook and Instagram, go back. It's sure that your account has not been hacked because it's going somewhere else and not yet.
@33:56 - CoachTobeyRenee
It's definitely going somewhere. So how does she how does she check to see if it's hacked or not? Wouldn't she know if it's hacked?
Not necessarily. Not necessarily because my page was hacked.
@34:12 - April Henry-Wood
I had no idea until I went to send something and I got a reply from someone said AB. You trying to get in your account?
@34:22 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Sorry. You've been hacked.
@34:24 - CoachTobeyRenee
Oops.
@34:25 - April Henry-Wood
Yeah. They actually responded back to me. if you are in your account, try to go and send a private message to someone that you know, someone is sitting next to you or your best friend or someone.
Send them a message. If it shows up that it's coming from you and there's no no setback or anything from it, then your account is okay.
If they get it and it doesn't look like it's from you or somebody else's profile, then that means your account has been hacked because most of the time.
@35:00 - CoachTobeyRenee
No, no, was just saying that's an easy check.
@35:02 - April Henry-Wood
Yes, because most of the time they'll use somebody else's profile under your name. Mmm.
@35:10 - Travonda Simpson
So that's how it's your stuff.
@35:12 - April Henry-Wood
They will literally hijack. They will hijack your stuff and then tell you you got to pay to get it back.
For you that your account has been hacked and you have to go the long way to get it done.
But if you have your Insta and your Facebook accounts connected, make sure that they have not been hacked.
@35:33 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yeah.
@35:33 - Travonda Simpson
Well, it's not connected at all because I can't even get into it. I can't make a new page, a new page business page.
I can't do it. It won't let me get it wrong. It won't send me the code that I need to set it up.
@35:46 - April Henry-Wood
Yeah, that code is going somewhere. How did you create the email?
@35:51 - Ms. Wylene Turner
How did you create your email?
@35:54 - Travonda Simpson
Well, my name, my business name, then let me ask you something. Did I put LLC? or should I just leave it blank?
Like just you mean on your Facebook page and social pages? No, not my email that I don't put up anything.
@36:11 - CoachTobeyRenee
Don't put a little tree.
@36:13 - Travonda Simpson
Gotcha. Okay. I'm writing it down.
@36:20 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay.
@36:21 - Travonda Simpson
I'm gonna go back in it tonight. But my sister also sent me email to that same to my business email and it went through.
@36:30 - April Henry-Wood
So do that make this that means it might be still a hack or your I see if she sent it to you directly from your business account, but your Facebook and Instagram would not then your Facebook and Instagram may be having some issues.
@36:47 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yeah. Something is not right on that Facebook.
@36:51 - Travonda Simpson
Yeah.
@36:51 - April Henry-Wood
So you need to go back in and double check that. And if you feel that is the problem, contact Instagram and say,
I feel that my account has been hacked, blah, blah. They will do a research for you. Same thing with Facebook.
Facebook is a little quicker than Instagram because Facebook has over billion people checking their stuff. So they'll get back to you very quickly.
But Instagram, double check, recheck, triple check, just make sure that your stuff is all ago and that nobody is hacking your stuff because I've recently, Tay Diggs just had his account, hacked recently.
And I started getting messages from his account and I knew another account that he had. And I was like, excuse me, I don't know you but your account has been hacked.
You know, that's how he found out. So it wasn't just me sending a message to say, hey, Tay, your account has been hacked.
SCREEN SHARING: Travonda started screen sharing - WATCH
@37:49 - Travonda Simpson
Okay.
@37:51 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yeah, you don't have to look into that, definitely.
@37:54 - Travonda Simpson
Okay, thank you so much. And I just shared my screen so you can see my logo.
@37:59 - CoachTobeyRenee
Oh, I will. I like that.
@38:01 - April Henry-Wood
I like it.
@38:08 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Thank you.
@38:10 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yeah, I like it. So it seems like, well, I guess that's highlight. was like, it looks like you did like pink and purple, but it's just more like an ombre.
@38:21 - Travonda Simpson
Yes.
@38:23 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yeah. Okay, cool. So I like this. So it'll be the purple, the gold, and then any silvers or whatever, bronze.
@38:33 - April Henry-Wood
Okay.
@38:35 - CoachTobeyRenee
All right.
@38:36 - Travonda Simpson
Yay.
@38:37 - CoachTobeyRenee
And did you know, no, no to the socials, no to Facebook, no Instagram. Were you able to set up maybe Pinterest?
@38:44 - Travonda Simpson
Yes, I have Pinterest, but I'm gonna have to go back as you said, don't add the LLC.
@38:49 - CoachTobeyRenee
I have to go back and don't that don't ever use the LLC is if don't use any of that.
And you guys don't use that in your business. I mean, file it on File it with the, you know, the state or whatever.
@39:02 - Travonda Simpson
So when you get to Instagram and your email and stuff like don't put the LLC gotcha. always keep that.
Okay.
@39:15 - April Henry-Wood
Go ahead. Tierra left a message in the chat at what site do you recommend to use for websites that for booking and scheduling services.
@39:33 - CoachTobeyRenee
Um, I want to use, what are you for my booking?
@39:37 - April Henry-Wood
Callily.
@39:38 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yeah, I use commonly, but also use square. I use commonly for meetings, but I use square to book. My point is because I can take a payment.
So I believe I use square. And let me show you guys. I'm going to. Are you still sharing. Aren't you fond of?
@40:04 - Travonda Simpson
Okay, no, I'm not. No.
@40:07 - CoachTobeyRenee
All right. Can y'all see? I'm trying to share my screen. Share. Is it sharing?
@40:16 - April Henry-Wood
Yes, you're sharing.
@40:17 - CoachTobeyRenee
Oh, okay. So let me show you my I don't know how it works. just need to get out of this, so I can get to.
I'm sorry, I'm trying to get to my Google screen, but everything is. Oh, maybe I need to minimize it.
What in the world? Oh, hi, meeting. Oh, okay. Let me go to. So can you see my IG?
@40:57 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Yeah.
@41:00 - CoachTobeyRenee
All right. So on my page, I feel like this client, oh, this looks very different. Yeah, so on the phone, I have a button that says, on my phone, I have a button that says, contact, but for whatever reason, I don't see that here.
I don't know, it's different here. me see, profile. Yeah, I don't know. View, edit. Yeah, on my phone, I have a button that says, contact, and you can email, book, now, or discover.
But on my laptop, I don't know how to access that. Let me see. I think I can get to it through.
Nope. Yeah, I don't know why the laptop that The top client is always so different. Yeah, I don't know how to show it to you unless I log in on my phone.
Let's see more settings. Yeah, I don't know how to contact. I don't, so if you're on the computer, I don't know how you would contact me because this is totally different.
But on my phone, if you go to my IG, you'll see where it says email book now. And the book now, I believe, is square.
I'm wondering, I think I can log in from my phone. Let me do that. going to try to log in from my phone to the Zoom call.
Okay, switch.
@42:53 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay, so now I'm on my phone. And I'm going share my screen on my phone, okay. April, are you seeing this?
@43:12 - April Henry-Wood
Yes, I am.
@43:14 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay. All right. So if you're on my Instagram on the phone, if you click that down button, see how it says I'll now.
If I click book now, I go to square. We see you. Huh?
@43:35 - April Henry-Wood
We see you.
@43:36 - Ms. Wylene Turner
We see you.
@43:37 - CoachTobeyRenee
Oh, my God. I thought I was sharing convert meeting recording. No, I don't want to do that. I need a Zoom class because this is not easy.
@43:52 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Yeah, I thought I was sharing my screen.
@43:57 - CoachTobeyRenee
Let me click back on it again. Share screen. Start broadcast. Okay. Maybe that's what I didn't do. Start broadcast.
SCREEN SHARING: Coachtobeyrenee started screen sharing - WATCH
All right. Can you see now?
@44:19 - Ms. Wylene Turner
Yeah.
@44:20 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay. So you see when I click my down arrow on my page and then I click book now. So it's going to square.
So that's the one I recommend. I just, I know how to use it. And then when you set it up, it'll say, you know, it'll ask you a description.
You put in description of what? So I select it and then it tells my user or my customer, you know, referral, whoever.
consultation is 495. I let them. I give a little bit of information. And then they can go down and and so.
elected and pay for it. All right, so I'm going to stop. And April, that click and does it end the meeting or does it end it off my phone?
@45:17 - April Henry-Wood
It probably in the meeting.
@45:49 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yep. sorry guys. had to get back on as the host. Okay. Did I answer your question? Um, okay.
@46:00 - Tierra
Yes, I'm sorry, I was muted, but yes, that answered my question.
@46:04 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yeah, so again, hopefully you can walk through it. It was pretty simple for me to set it up, but you can always shoot me a message and telegram is something I can try to figure out.
will. I will definitely help. Any more questions?
@46:26 - Ms. Wylene Turner
No.
@46:27 - CoachTobeyRenee
So, let me wait, who was this? Oh, Tiara, are you on? Are you still on?
@46:37 - Tierra
Yes, I'm on.
@46:39 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay. Do you have any questions or do you have a business name or colors you want us to kind of look at?
@46:45 - Tierra
Want me to kind of look at? Oh, well, I missed the call last week because I had kind of just joined and when I got your email about it.
But luckily, I do have a name, his final touch.
@46:58 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yeah, I like that.
@47:02 - Tierra
I like just using basic colors like the black and white.
@47:05 - CoachTobeyRenee
I try to stay away from colors.
@47:08 - Tierra
So I know it would definitely be centered around in black and white. I'd be able to send it to you.
The questions I had be kind of going to, I think I'm about to kind of get started on the first project, more so it's just taping type of brushes and things like that just to start off with something simple.
So I don't know if it's a question. That's okay to ask right now.
@47:33 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yeah, you can. Have you taken the online courses yet?
@47:38 - Tierra
No. Oh, okay. I've only taken like two of your courses that I bought like last, I want to say around Black Friday when you was going to sell on them last year before with the online courses, no.
@47:51 - CoachTobeyRenee
Did you log into your, you have an online portal with classes when you joined?
@47:56 - Tierra

@48:07 - CoachTobeyRenee
Oh, okay.
@48:08 - Tierra
I was not having to check my email. So if you can re-send it and then I would If you know you'll send it like when we're finished and I can know to be looking out for it So I want to let I was inspired.
@48:18 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay. Yeah, I'll do it since we hang out So yes, when you log in all of your your portal open if you have access to all the classes Okay, well, well, I think it's gonna be by the month, but um, okay, one of the classes You're gonna take talks about taping what take the use I have a class in there Well, think I'll unpack my toolbox or something like that But yeah, I mean you can ask the questions here if you don't have no problem with that But I do want to make sure you have access to all that Okay, I don't just because I haven't reset the password So I can wait on my questions if I can get into it and if my questions aren't answered after what
So that next week, I'll be making sure it's an X. Okay. And then you can, you know, you can hit me in telegram.
@49:07 - Tierra
Yes, ma'am.
@49:07 - CoachTobeyRenee
Have to wait until Monday.
@49:08 - Tierra

@49:09 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay. think you can only reach out to me on a Monday. Okay. If there's something that comes up in telegram, just shoot me a message in telegram.
@49:17 - Tierra

@49:20 - CoachTobeyRenee
All right. Well, I feel like.
@49:24 - Ms. Wylene Turner

@49:33 - CoachTobeyRenee
Let me make sure it's up to share. Okay.
@49:42 - Ms. Wylene Turner
So that's the first.
@49:45 - CoachTobeyRenee

SCREEN SHARING: Ms. started screen sharing - WATCH
@49:48 - Ms. Wylene Turner

@49:59 - CoachTobeyRenee

@50:06 - CoachTobeyRenee
Ooh, I like both of them, vanity design house.
@50:16 - Ms. Wylene Turner
So where is that house better?
@50:20 - CoachTobeyRenee
Yeah, I do too.
@50:24 - Ms. Wylene Turner
I think I like it different, but I think I like the first one.
@50:29 - CoachTobeyRenee
Okay, beautiful. Yeah, I don't know. just sounds I don't know. It sounds very luxe luxury. So I did get started.
Hey, see, it's a fake step. Yeah, I just think I was waiting this year. Okay, I'll go with that.
I like it. All right, well, I'm proud of y'all. But like, yeah, just stay on task. Yeah, just stay on task.
I had one of the young ladies in the academy. She's like, oh my god. I'm like girl this business is not going anywhere do what you need to do and just come back to it like just you know keep your focus Life happens.
It's fine, but then nobody can take your creativity from you, right? Nobody can wake up and your design eye from it.
It doesn't work like that So just do what you can as much as you can and just you know say steady on the course You guys are just kind of starting out and that's fine But don't don't get discouraged.
That's all I'm saying just say like the first two three years You're really gonna be building this business All right Okay, well, I think that is it.
All right, so let me tell y'all my homework. Make sure I didn't forget anything I am going to add the Amazon link in telegram my polystyrene link in telegram Um, and I will send tiara a quick
